The queue hides eye-level signs
Once ten people line up, any sign at eye level disappears. Key information goes overhead, above about 2.4 m.

Size letters for distance
As a working rule, about 1 cm of letter height for every metre of viewing distance. A queue sign read from 10 m needs letters around 10 cm tall.
